The sun smart country A land where cricket reigns Where green and gold singlets are Adorned with red sauce stains. This country is down under, For we are near the bottom of the earth. But who says the world begins above us, I wonder? Our flag bears the stars that blaze at night In our southern sky of blue And that little old flag in the corner That's part of our heritage too. It's for the English, the Scots and the Irish Who was sent to the end of the earth The roughs and schemers, the doers and dreamers Who gave this country the modern birth. In a rough untanned hide wondering Where big British mama went & when that big American papa has ridden With his six-gun into the sunset we hide under the blanket. Summer means Christmas time to fill the fridge. With a big whitish building, that looks like a shell A strong iron bridge, up in the air A climate that's fine, and easy to bear
